False propaganda is not a service to Islam.

It is Neil Armstrong who heard the Azan on the moon - without any air to propagate sound, and embraced Islam! Neil Armstrong denied it. It is now claimed that Hans Raj Hans, the Indian singer,  has embraced Islam but his son is denying it. 

What would it matter even if it was true that these people had embraced Islam? The Holy Prophet (s) prayed to Allah to let Hazrat Umar (r) see the light of Islam because Hazrat Umar was going to be a source of strength for the cause and not because he was famous.

One law for the Muslims and another law for the rest

We are told that there are a number of fundamental principles of Western law. One is that a person is innocent until proven guilty. Another is that a person must be allowed to face his/her accusers. A third that everyone has the right to defend himself in open court. And most importantly that every individual has a right to privacy unless there is a prime facia case that he is involved in criminality.

It seems that these rules are only to be applied to non-Muslims and that according to the US justice system all Muslims are to be regarded as terrorists unless they can prove that they are not.

Muhammad Ali Jinnah Tries to protect freedom of research

When a pamphlet hurling filthy abuse at the Holy Prophet caused riots in Lahore its author and others connected with it were arrested. They could not be punished under the laws which then existed. A new law, section 295(a) was proposed for the Indian Penal Code. 

Mr Jinnah, the Qaid i Azam, was a member of the committee which discussed the draft of section 295(a) of the Indian Penal Code. He said that this section should apply only to genuine cases of deliberate and malicious intent and "the fundamental principle that those who are engaged in historical works, those who are engaged in the ascertainment of truth and those who are engaged in bona fide and honest criticisms of a religion shall be protected."

Does Islam need reform?

Many in the Muslim world question the need for reform. Islam, they say, is a perfect religion so what need is there for reform. True! But what needs reform is our understanding of Islam and reform of the Muslim character. Islam which was a means of encouraging Muslims to advance knowledge and science is now used as an excuse to keep Muslims ignorant. The video below discusses these ideas.
